A Year in Review: Partnering with the Cystic Fibrosis Community

12/16/2022

Each year, our team at Foundation Care works diligently to support the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) community. Beyond daily clinical patient support activities, we take part in regular volunteer opportunities and community events. Such occasions enhance the work of our team and allow us to experience the perspectives, engagement, and spirit of the CF community. In turn, the community sees our purpose in action and feels our passion to support patients, families, and caregivers impacted by the disease.

In 2022, our team attended over a dozen events in support of the CF community, including multiple Great Strides Walks and the annual North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference. At each, we were able to create unique partnership experiences and serve patients, families, and caregivers by getting to know their stories and providing patient support materials.

“While our team has many chances to create connection with the patients and families that we serve through phone calls and emails, there is no substitute for meeting face to face,” said Rachel Wiechert, Pharm.D., BSN, Director of Pharmacy. “To celebrate the advancements made in CF care and be a part of the movement toward increased support, superior medications, and ultimately enhanced patient outcomes is a powerful thing. We enjoy and appreciate meeting families whose lives are changed by the progress.”

As the year draws to a close, we reflect on the honor of being a part of so many events in 2022 hosted by organizations like The Rose Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation itself, and many of its chapters across the country. We look forward to more partnership opportunities and chances to interact with the CF community in 2023.
